Investor (Provisional) (Subclass 162)



  Investor (Provisional) (subclass 162) – for investors/business people who have an overall successful record of business or investment activities, have significant net assets, are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for three years and have a genuine commitment to maintain business and investment activity in Australia.  

You may qualify if:

You have an overall successful record of eligible investment of a qualifying business

You have a total of at least 3 years experience of direct involvement in managing one or more qualifying businesses or eligible investment

At least one out of the 5 years immediately before applying you have:

a) Maintained direct control in either managing a qualifying business in which you (or your spouse together) had an ownership interest of at least 10% of the total value of business

b) You maintained direct involvement in managing your (or your and your spouse's combined) eligible investment, the total value of which was at least A$1,500.000.

At least 2 years immediately before applying, you (and your spouse together) have a net value of at least A$2,250.000 before applying

You have a high level of management experience and skill in relation to an eligible investment or qualifying business activity

You will make a Designated Investment of A$1,500.000

You are less than 45 years at the time of the application

You have at least vocational English

You have a realistic commitment to continue to maintain a business or investment activity in Australia after the designated investment has matured

State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) (Subclass 165)



 

For people sponsored by a state or territory of Australia, who have a successful business or investment career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia.

 

Investor (Provisional) (subclass 162/165) – for investors/business people who have an overall successful record of business or investment activities, have significant net assets, are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for three years and have a genuine commitment to maintain business and investment activity in Australia. A State/Territory government may sponsor this category, with lower level criteria applying.

You may qualify if:

Must be sponsored by an appropriate regional authority of a State/Territory government;

Have a total of at least 3 years experience of direct involvement in managing one or more qualifying businesses or eligible investments;

For at least 1 of the 5 fiscal years immediately before the application is made:

You have maintained direct involvement in either managing a qualifying business in which you (or you and your spouse) had an ownership interest of at least 10% of the total value of the business; or

You maintained direct involvement in managing your (or you and your spouse's) eligible investments, the total of which was at least A$750,000;

For the 2 fiscal years immediately before application is made, the net value of your (or you and your spouse's) assets was at least A$1.125million;

At the time of decision, you have made a Designated Investment of A$750,000;You are aged less than 55 at time of application or you have proposed to establish or participate in a business that the State/Territory has determined is of exceptional economic benefit to the State/Territory;

You have demonstrated a high level of management skill in relation to an eligible investment or qualifying business activity;

Neither you or your spouse have a history of involvement in a business or investment activities of a nature not generally acceptable in Australia; and

You have a genuine and realistic commitment to maintain a business or investment activity in Australia after the designated investment has matured.

Investor Retirement Visa (Subclass 405)



 

A temporary visa for people aged 55 years or older who are able to make a significant long term financial investment in Australia. This visa is not a pathway to a permanent visa.

 

An Investor Retirement Visa is a temporary entry visa only. It does not lead to permanent residence in Australia or to Australian citizenship.

If you are considering applying for an Investor Retirement Visa, the principal applicant must be:

55 years or older;

Have no dependants (other than a spouse); and

Be able to be self-supporting in Australia without cost to Australian social and welfare services.

 

The Investor Retirement Visa does not provide any entitlement to coverage by Medicare (Australia's national health cover) or to Australian social security benefits. The applicant will be required to hold private medical coverage for the duration of their visa.
A State/Territory government agency must sponsor a person for the Investor Retirement Visa, and an investment must be made with the sponsoring State/Territory government treasury corporation.
Information provided by applicants regarding their intended place of residence in Australia will determine the amount required by them for settlement, annual income and Designated Investment to meet the financial requirement for the grant of an Investor Retirement Visa.
If your application is approved, you will be given a visa that will allow multiple entry travel in and out of Australia initially for 4 years. Before your visa expires, you may apply to remain for a further stay of 4 years, however, you will need to satisfy particular criteria for this visa. There is no maximum period for which you can remain in Australia as the holder of consecutive Investor Retirement Visas.

There are no concessions if you have any family or children in Australia.

High-Calibre Business People

Business Talent (Migrant) (Subclass 132)

For high calibre business people, sponsored by a state or territory of Australia, who are owners or part owners of an overseas business and have a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in the management of a new or existing business in Australia.

Business Owners

Business Owner (Residence) (Subclass 890)

For people to assist in the economic development of Australia. This visa allows you to stay in Australia on a permanent basis for the purpose of owning a new or existing business.

 

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Residence) (Subclass 892)

For people, sponsored by a state or territory of Australia, to assist in the economic development of Australia by ownership of a new or existing business.

 

Established Business in Australia (Subclass 845)

For people who, as a temporary resident, have established a business in Australia, and have a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses in Australia.

 

Regional Established Business in Australia (Subclass 846)

For people who, as a temporary resident, have a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses in Australia. You must be sponsored by a state/territory government authority.

 

Investors

Investor (Residence) (Subclass 891)

For people who hold an Investor (provisional) visa and have maintained their designated investment/s for at least 4 years. Applicants must have have been in Australia for at least 2 of the last 4 years.

 

State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Residence) (Subclass 893)

For people who hold an Investor (provisional) visa and have an overall successful record of business or investment activities, and significant net assets to invest in a designated investment in Australia for four years. Applicants must also have a genuine commitment to maintain business and investment activity in Australia and be sponsored by a state/territory authority.

Business (Short Stay) visa (subclass 456)



 

Ideal for nurses to undertake an approved bridging or pre-registration program for less than three months. Nurses who successfully complete the course may be able to apply in Australia for a Business Long Stay visa.

This visa allows business people to make a short business visit to Australia for up to three (3) months during your visa validity period. Business activities may include a conference, negotiation or exploratory business visit.

 

Who is this visa for?
This visa is available to all passport holders who want to visit Australia for business purposes. No sponsorship is required. Certain business visitors will also be eligible to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or an eVisitor.

How much will this visa cost?
You may be required to pay a visa application charge. This charge is usually not refunded if your application is unsuccessful.

What does this visa let me do?
If you are granted this visa, you can:

Attend to business activities in Australia including conferences, business negotiations or exploratory business visits

Be allowed to engage in limited work, if for example it is highly specialised and non-ongoing

Enter Australia once or on multiple occasions during the visa validity period

Stay in Australia for up to three months from the date of each entry

Bring your spouse or dependent children to Australia.
